The good news first: Our motorhomes and CamperVans with a tow bar ("AHK" for short) all have a permissible gross weight of max. 3,500 kg and can therefore be driven by anyone with a category B licence. In addition, trailers up to a permissible gross weight of 750 kg — e.g. typical motorbike trailers — are likewise permitted as a combination with our motorhomes/CamperVans on a category B licence. And this throughout the EU, with no additional test!

Members of automobile clubs can receive a special members' discount on their DRM motorhome hire with tow coupling, provided they enquire about a DRM motorhome with tow bar directly via this website. Presentation of the original membership card – issued in the name matching that of the hirer – is mandatory at motorhome collection.
Our motorhomes with tow bar in the 2025 season
For the 2025 season, starting in April/at Easter, we have once again fitted a large number of motorhomes/campervans with a tow bar (AHK). This is primarily intended for use with a bike rack, but - subject to individual approval - it can also be used for towing. Please note that this use requires both authorisation and a fee! We have fitted the following motorhomes/campervans with a tow bar - max. trailer load 750 kg unbraked / 1,400 kg braked:
